Janet Albrechtsen: The harridan's harridan Jerzy Wiçiçiwiç is wrong about Tim Blair. He is not the Coalition's answer to Axis Sally and Tokyo Rose. Janet Albrechtsen is. Or rather, she takes on the Axis Sally role, while Blair gets to be Tokyo Rose. He even looks like her. All kidding aside, we know that Blair is really a self-sacrificing left wing plant whose job it is to parody conservatives. But what of shrieking, snarling, Janet, the harridan's harridan? Like most conservatives, her limited scope on the ins and outs of what it's like to be a walking, talking, above all reasoning, human being means that she thinks the rest of us are just as limited. Her all-bazookas-blazing attack on David Marr of Media Watch in The Australian (18/9/02), would have caused the wicked witch of the east to tremble with fear before carking it with her daks full of cack. Marr accused Alblahblahblah of fibbing, fudging and fantasising the facts in an earlier article about pack rape. Her response shows she thinks that by slinging her anti-intellectual caca in all directions, the plain fact of her misquotes either won't be noticed or no one will care. Albrechtsen is a card carrying member of a claque of right wing commentators who have declared war on the ABC and just about everything else the renaissance was meant to free us from. This is the real war Australia faces. The war between open and closed minds. What she and this claque of clunks are perhaps unconscious of is that had they reached maturity seventy years earlier they could have been precious PR hacks for Hitler. If you think that's over the top, look at their writings. They are nothing if not consistent in their reduction of the intellect to an atavistic hatred of difference and its resultant repression that so invigorated Adolph and his henchmen. They are the Australian equivalent of Hitler's faceless, hateful propagandists, the rigid, fearful and dutiful parrots from Orwell's Ministry of Truth.
