John Howard's Kakistocracy: Its Existence Is As Inevitable As Defecation John Howard's syllogistic insanity suggesting that those opposed to his illegal invasion of Iraq were therefore pro-Saddam Hussein surely marks the tattered ends of the feeble thread of his so-called credibility. That the leader of any country could come to such a bizarre conclusion--and expect to get away with it--shows that he is no longer fit to govern. (He never was.) And if Australia is not to include itself among those third world countries where such leaders flourish, John Howard's removal should be the number one priority of not only its citizens and the opposition party, but the Coalition itself. The problem is, the Coalition has heretofore been a grotesque hive mind attuned to the Master Meerkat's whims. In particular, Alexander "The Shrill Parrot" Downer, is sometimes more Howard than Howard. Shrieking at the Labor Party in Parliament, he said, "The fact that we got rid of that regime and you wanted that regime to remain in office is an argument that between now and polling day we would be happy to have." (Never mind that regime change is only a recent excuse.) Well, let us fervently hope that Downer gets his wish. The more wacko statements this government makes the better for Australians to see just how far gone they are. One question Downer and Howard might like to answer (and for that matter, George W. Bush, Tony Blair, and the supporters of their invasion of Iraq) is this: Had he remained in power, what is the probability that Saddam Hussein would have killed more than 10,000 Iraqis, as well as over 500 American soldiers, and scores of soldiers from other countries in the year since the invasion? To this question you can bet their reply would be an exercise in side-stepping spin. Because the actual life or death of anyone is of no importance to them. These are the larval men (including the psychologically disturbed Margaret Thatcher) who routinely spend vast sums on weapons whose two reasons for manufacture are profit and abstract killing on a large scale, the larger the scale the larger the profit. Who then scream bloody murder when asked to give a few cents more to education budgets. We know why they are miserly on education expenditure: the dumber the population the easier it is to stay in power. Hence the title Kakistocracy, which means government by the worst citizens. In the course of our daily lives, most of us wouldn't buy a pencil from such people. We would shun them for the sociopaths they are. Yet about half the population always falls for Kakistocrats whose sole mission, it seems, is to awaken the evil demon that resides in us all. Hitler could not wreaked havoc on the world without them. Without them, Milosevic could not have overseen the murder of neighbour by neighbour in his Satanic devastation of Yugoslavia. Without them, earth would be pretty close to a paradise. P. D. Ouspensky opined that Kakistos were incarnated solely to awaken these entry-levels to their potential as something more than solipsistic consumers of the here today, gone tomorrow. Ouspensky is not exactly a household name, but it's hard to imagine John Howard's life being of any other use than to so desecrate the concepts of reason, justice and compassion that even the chumps start crying foul. The truth is, until damn near every citizen on the planet starts paying attention, there is no hope for the human race. Until that happens, history will keep repeating itself; sometimes life gets better here while it gets worse there, or it gets worse everywhere. One thing is irrefutable, it has never gotten better everywhere. Such attention would require individuals to step beyond the bounds of their human unit (family or otherwise) to make a hands-on assessment of the world in which they live. At a minimum, this would require a proper assessment of the men and women who intend to represent them in the political sphere, where the quality of their lives is determined. Eventually such rigorous assessment would weed out the Howards, Downers, Costellos, and even the Lathams, all of whom would be replaced by a psychologically balanced workforce whose goal would be to insure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their level of evolution. Historical evidence to the contrary, this goal is as easy as deciding to put people before profit. But this is not going to happen. Not ever. That is the sad truth about our species. We will continue to allow the process of governance to remain totally out of our hands. Until the end of time, we will continue to vote for hucksters and tyrants and fools like John Howard. Half-humans who are offered to us by institutions whose only interest is to ensure that absolute power and profit over and on the backs of the less fortunate remains unbroken. John Howard may soon be gone from the political scene, and with full dishonours, but his replacements are legion. |
